Chicago-based Citadel Investment Group has brought on JP Morgan Chase & Co. veteran Patrik Edsparr as CEO of Citadel Europe in London and head of the firm's global fixed-income business, including securitized products. Edsparr, who was a member of JP Morgan's executive committee, joined the firm in 1996 and has held an array of leadership roles, including global head of rates, foreign exchange, securitized products, fixed income, exotics and hybrids, propriety trading and principal investments. Calling Edsparr "an exceptional leader and business builder," Kenneth Griffin, CEO and founder of Citadel Investment, noted that "as we create opportunities to expand our business on a global scale, our first priority is building high-performance teams and attracting top talent from across the industry." Edsparr, who previously worked in Lehman Brothers' mortgage derivative strategies business, added, "This is an incredible time to be on the front line of the market with a leading and evolving global franchise."
NumeriX, a provider of pricing and risk analysis software for a range of asset classes, has named James Jockle SVP of marketing. Jockle--previously responsible for global marketing and corporate communications at Fitch Ratings--will oversee New York-based NumeriX's marketing department, support all areas of strategy and management and head the market research function. "We have a very ambitious agenda with several new product and model launches planned for 2008," noted Steven O'Hanlon, president and COO of NumeriX. "As we come to market with these new offerings, it is imperative that we effectively communicate with our customers, our expansive partner network and the broader market." Jockle, who was a member of the communications team of Moody's Investors Service before joining Fitch nine years ago, "has a unique knowledge of the global credit and derivatives market and will bring a fresh approach to our product marketing and overall corporate positioning," added O'Hanlon.
