Fidelity Investments' National Financial Services has appointed Sanjiv Mirchandani to succeed Norman Malo as president. A 12-year veteran of clearing services provider National Financial, Malo led the unit for six years and his retirement has been expected for some time. Mirchandani, previously president of Fidelity's personal and workplace investing business, joined in 2004. He has also been EVP of brokerage and asset management products in Fidelity's personal investments division and general manager of its retail retirement business.
Interbank messaging cooperative Swift has named Patrick Curtin, former EVP of global securities services at Bank of New York Mellon Corp., as head of securities initiatives in the Americas. Reporting to Chris Church, CEO of the Americas and global head of securities, Curtin will focus on straight-through processing efforts and collaborate with trade groups such as the Securities Industry & Financial Markets Association and International Securities Association for International Trade Communications. At BNY Mellon, Curtin headed global custody, clearance, securities lending, foreign exchange, cash management and agency securities execution.
