Nexaweb, Pyxis to Turn Old Apps into Mobile Apps
August 11, 2010
Nexaweb Technologies said it will work with Pyxis Mobile to turn older programs running on long-standing business systems into modern apps that can run on tablet computers and smarthphones.
Nexaweb will use its technology for migrating existing applications to the Web to deliver interactive, rich user experiences that can incorporate real-time data streaming. Pyxis will add its technology to make Web apps work as native iPad, iPhone, Blackberry and Android applications.
The two companies said this will create opportunities for companies to create new customer service, financial trading, real-time news and data streaming services.

Such mobile applications are increasingly being used by brokers and traders for internal use, but also to reach and provide services to customers.
This will make apps "securely available to employees, partners and customers, anytime and anywhere, from any device,” said Chris Heidelberger, chief executive at Nexaweb Technologies, Inc.
Pyxix Mobile two weeks ago named a new chief executive officer, Steven Levy. Levy co-founded and served as chief executive for 15 years at Macgregor, an order management system provider.
