CBOE Stock Exchange Experiences Glitch
September 14, 2012
A technical problem on the CBOE Stock Exchange Friday caused all Nasdaq OMX national exchanges to declare self-help, before it was resolved.
At 12:03 p.m. today, Central time, the symbols from Q to T on the CBOE exchange were down due to a technical difficulty, according to CBOE.
During that time, various exchanges declared “self-help,” telling their members that they would not be routing orders in the affected stocks to the CBOE Stock Exchange.
The difficulty was resolved, and trading resumed at 12:18 p.m. CT.
The exchanges, including the Nasdaq Stock Market, Nasdaq BX and Nasdaq PSX, then revoked “self-help.”
