CFN Expanding Network from Chicago to Mumbai

CFN Services said it is expanding its trading network to additional exchanges in Chicago, Frankfurt, London, New York/ New Jersey, Sao Paulo, Tokyo and Mumbai.

The supplier of managed services that automate the delivery of market data and the execution of trades at high speed, said these expansions will take place by the end of March.

“We just added Mumbai,” said Wil Tirado, vice president of Network & Infrastructure at CFN.

The move will help cost-conscious firms, who can use cloud-based services, instead of their own networks, to reach more market centers. “Today customers, both large and small, are trying to cut costs while expanding their reach,’’ he said.

New services immediately available in Asia  include:  network expansion to the Equinix TY3 data center in Tokyo; colocation services there as well and the connection to the Bombay Stock Exchange in Mumbai, India.

In Europe,  CFN is cutting latency from 8.66 to 8.49  milliseconds round-trip between the Interxion - LON1 data center in London  and Equinix - FR2 in Frankfurt. Also being added is a connection to the to the Telstra International London Hosting Centre, in the Docklands of London.

In North Africa, CFN is providing  Chicago Board Options Exchange Primary Source Market Data from Secaucus, N.J.; · CBOE Disaster Recovery Source Market Data from Chicago, Ill., and managed Infrastructure and market data services from the NYSE Mahwah, N.J. data center.

In South America, CFN is expanding to  the ALOG/Equinix SP1 data center, in Sao Paulo, Brazil and adding colocation services there.

“Our technology initiatives and continued investment in our network and Alpha Platform throughout 2013 will focus on enhancing the performance and breadth of solutions that matter the most to our clients,” says Tirado. “Additionally, these initiatives enable clients to immediately take advantage of the benefits and expand their footprint, obtain the lowest latencies possible and access the market data and managed services they need to broaden their trading strategies.”

CFN also plans to provide additional market data from trading venues in the New York area, Sao Paulo and Tokyo.

At last count CFN had nearly 250,000 miles of long-distance fiber routes and is connected to 550 miles of metropolitan  networks.
