NYSE SuperFeed to include OTC Markets Data
December 1, 2011
NYSE Technologies said it added Level 1 and Level 2 OTC Markets Group data to the market data provided through its global market data service, SuperFeed.
The move follows the October announcement that trading firms would be able to use NYSE Technologies' secure financial communications network to get market data from OTC Markets Group.
OTC Markets operates three electronic marketplaces for over-the-counter trading of securities that are not found on national exchanges. These include the OTC Pink, OTC QB and OTC QX markets, which have different levels of information about the securities being traded.
Level 1 quotes typically involve the most common market data, including bid and ask prices, in real time.
Level 2 data typically show the best bid and ask prices (also known as "top-of-book") for each market participant in a given security. This indicates the buying and selling pressure behind individual securities.
SuperFeed provides data from major U.S., European and Asian markets in a single format. The hosted, managed service combines the "simplicity and cost efficiency of a consolidated feed with the high performance capabilities of a direct feed."
The data will include transactions involving more than 10,000 OTC Markets securities.
