Solutionary Launches Unified Threat Management Tool
September 2, 2010
Solutionary, an information security company in Omaha, Neb., has teamed up with SHI, a technology firm in Piscataway, N.J., to develop ActiveGuard UTM, for unified threat management.
The security system, which is primarily targeted at midsize firms, includes firewall, VPN, IDS‐IPS, web filtering, antivirus, antispam and antispyware. Steve Idelman, Solutionary’s CEO, says the security system can be customized to any client company’s compliance requirements,
To be sure, ActiveGuard isn’t the only UTM out there—Idelman says the industry is currently valued at $1.5 billion and some analysts are predicting it will grow to as much as $7 billion in value by 2014. Solutionary’s spin is that a subscription to its service, which starts at $145 per month, includes real-time virus protection. The company provides client reports on the safety of their networks daily, weekly, monthly or as required, Idelman says.
