July 18, 2011
Telehouse America said it will provide its customers with ultra low latency connections to Sidera Networks.
The Sidera network connects major financial exchanges and colocation facilities throughout the New York and New Jersey metropolitan areas. Telehouse operates dedicated data centers, including co-location space, and managed information technology services.
Sidera, in turn, will have access to Telehouse's colocation space with low to no cross connect fees.
Telehouse's carrier-neutral data centers in New York City are at 85 10th Avenue in Chelsea, 25 Broadway in the Wall Street area, and 7 Teleport Drive on Staten Island.
Sidera offers dedicated point-to-point, switched point-to-multipoint, and multipoint-to-multipoint Layer 2 Ethernet service.
Sidera Networks formerly used to be known as RCN Metro Optical Networks.
Separately, Telx, which also operates data centers that serve trading venues and financial market participants in the New York and New Jersey area, said Bat Blue, a provder of cloud, network and security technologies and services, has joined the Telx cloudXchange.
By joining the Telx cloudXchange, Bat Blue can offer Telx’s customers direct access to its low-latency BlueNET IP network, backed by Telx’s Private Interconnect service. The combination provides computing uptime of 99.999 percent.
