Thomson Reuters Data Feeds Black Mountain Platform
November 11, 2011
Users of Black Mountain's portfolio management and order management system will receive prices from Thomson Reuters on syndicated loans and other equity, fixed- income and over-the-counter contracts.
Users of the Everest system will have the ability to access Thomson Reuters pricing and reference data. Black Mountain Systems customers will now be able to access data on demand which will enable them to streamline their operations and costs. They will also be able to understand their data usage by volume and asset class.
Everest, a front office portfolio management platform, is popular among quantitative analysts, investment managers, traders and compliance officers.
The integration of Thomson Reuters DataScope Select into Everest will enable customers to request data for over 2.5 million over-the-counter (OTC) fixed-income and derivative instruments, including structured / securitized products, corporate and government securities, U.S. municipals, convertible bonds, loans, and derivative products.
Those products are so-called evaluated prices generated by Thomson Reuters analysts who use a combination of market data inputs and pricing methodologies to support regulatory and accounting standards.
The integration avoids the need for fund manager clients of Everest to do their own mapping of Thomson’s data into the portfolio management platform.
Thomson Reuters has similar arrangements with other investment management platforms including applications used for portfolio management, research, enterprise data management, risk and compliance and accounting and valuation. The firm would not disclose their names.
Black Mountain is a San Diego company that provides software for investment managers.
